Oxford Business Group (OBG) has appointed a new Editorial Manager for its operations in Ras Al-Khaimah as it gears up to publish its latest report on the Emirate’s business activity.
Leo Gonzalez will oversee all editorial and research aspects of the Group’s forthcoming business guide, The Report: RAK 2010. The highly-anticipated report will serve to reinforce OBG’s place as the world market leader in providing accurate, insightful economic information on developing and emerging economies across the continents.
Commenting on his new appointment, Gonzalez said 2010 looked set to be the year that would firmly anchor RAK’s position on the world map. “OBG has long reported that the government’s move to establish RAK as a regional hub for investment, industry, trade and tourism would bring positive results,” he said.
Before taking up his new role, Gonzalez was based in Saudi Arabia where, as Editorial Manager, he played a key role in ensuring that OBG’s 2009 report on the Kingdom was a resounding success. Prior to joining OBG in 2008, Gonzalez carved out a successful career in media operations across the Middle East in Egypt, Jordan, Dubai and Qatar after initially working in the United States.
Oliver Cornock, OBG’s Regional Editor, said that Gonzalez’s stint in Saudi Arabia had confirmed his understanding of economic activity across the Gulf and demonstrated his abilities, saying, “I am confident that Leo will have his finger on the pulse as RAK reaps the rewards of key initiatives such as business-friendly policies and well-crafted trade zones.” He continued, “His attributes make him the ideal candidate for this exciting role which will, I’m sure, result in an exciting new report on RAK’s economic development next year.”
The Report: RAK 2010, which Gonzalez and his team of OBG analysts will be preparing over the coming six months, is set to be the premier guide for foreign direct investment into the Emirate’s economy. It will offer unrivalled, up-to-date analysis of political, macroeconomic and sectoral developments in RAK, including banking, capital markets, energy, infrastructure, industry and insurance. Available in print form and online,The Report: RAK 2010 will also include interviews with leading political, economic and business figures from both the local scene and international community.
