Two trucks containing boat components have arrived at the BMW ORACLE Racing team testing base in San Diego, after completing a 2,000 kilometer (1300 mile) journey.
The carbon fiber components were built at Core Builders, the team’s Anacortes boat-building facility in Washington State.
These new structures will be used in future modifications to the giant trimaran, known as BOR 90, that the team is preparing to race in the 33rd America’s Cup.
“Everything has arrived in good shape and we’re pleased we can move on to our next stage of boat development,” said Mark Turner (NZL), boat construction manager.
