In March 2010, RAK Hospital will host a unique contemporary art competition with local artists on the theme ‘Tracking the Emirates’ and ‘under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi and H.E. Gerhard Bruegger, Consul General of Switzerland’. RAK Hospital and partner organization Swiss Art Gate UAE aim to support and strengthen the local and regional art scene with an exhibition of the works of up to fifteen artists.
RAK Hospital has generously provided indoor space on their premises for an event that will bring together some of the finest UAE contemporary art. The exhibition will last three months beginning with an opening ceremony on March 22, 2010.
A catalogue presenting all artists and artworks will be made available. The organizers of ‘Tracking the Emirates’ will select artists who will create new artworks depicting their roots and experiences with the past, the present or future in the UAE. The range of artworks to be exhibited can include paintings, prints, installations, sculptures, video art or photographs, created especially for this exhibition. RAK Hospital will provide each artist with the space to realize and manifest their ideas on the theme of the exhibition.
General Information about the art competition and site visit: The organizer of this exhibition, Swiss Art Gate UAE (SAGUAE), invites all interested artists and media to a site visit at RAK Hospital, Ras Al Khaimah. During the site visit, all the details regarding the competition and exhibition will be outlined.

Precise description of your project idea and the artwork you want to create
Measurements of the artworks to be displayed at RAK Hospital
Competition
After the judgment of a professional jury, approximately 10 to 15 artists will be given the chance to finalize their artworks for the exhibition.
Terms & conditions for the art competition
works that have previously been exhibited will not be accepted
all participants in the exhibition will be required to attend the opening ceremony on Monday, March 22,
2010; 6 pm at RAK Hospital, Ras Al Khaimah
all artworks must be ready for displaying (e.g. paintings framed)
the artist takes the responsibility for the transportation of artworks
all artworks can be sold at an agreed price
the decision by the professional jury is final and cannot be contested
